Sonbhadra district administration has intensified preparations to effectively implement the Sampurnata Abhiyan 2.0 being run from January to April 2026 under the Aspirational District and Aspirational Block Program run by NITI Aayog. In this sequence, an important coordination meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi with district and development block level officers of all major departments including Health, ICDS, Animal Husbandry, Panchayati Raj, Education. It was clarified in the meeting that the basic objective of the campaign is to ensure 100 percent reach of government schemes and services to the person standing in the last line by working in mission mode on selected indicators to health, nutrition, education and agriculture.

In the meeting, special focus was given on the key indicators set for district Sonbhadra, which include the ratio of birth weight of infants, TB case notification rate (from government and private institutions), organizing at least one VHNSD/UHND in a month at every Anganwadi center and urban PHC, percentage of animals vaccinated and percentage of schools with functional girls’ toilets. A target has been set to saturate all these indicators 100% by April 2026.

Similarly, work will be done in the aspirational development block Chatra also under a special strategy. Here, indicators like ICDS supplementary nutrition coverage of children aged 6 months to 6 years, efficiency of height and weight measurement of children in Anganwadi centres, percentage of Anganwadi centers with functional toilets, percentage of Anganwadi centers with drinking water facility, percentage of schools with adequate number of girls toilet facilities and percentage of vaccination of cattle/animals under FMD will be closely monitored.

CDO Jagriti Awasthi instructed the officers that all the departments should work in mutual coordination and ensure door-to-door survey, beneficiary verification, timely uploading of data on portals and weekly review. He said that Sampurnata Abhiyan 2.0 is not just an administrative program but a development movement involving public participation, in making it successful the active role of village head, self-help groups, Anganwadi workers, ASHA, ANM, teachers and Panchayat representatives is very important.

He also said that through special campaign days running from January 27 to April 14, 2026, events like public awareness programs, camps, rallies, baby showers, mega health and nutrition days to health, nutrition, TB eradication, mother-child health, vaccination, sanitation and drinking water will be organized, so that every eligible beneficiary can get the benefits of the scheme on time. In the end, he called upon all the officers to work with personal responsibility and sensitivity at every level to bring Sonbhadra to the forefront of development standards.
