New Delhi, Jan 29: The atmosphere at Raisina Hill was filled with patriotic melodies such as Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja and Vijay Bharat during the Beating Retreat ceremony held on Thursday, which also commemorated the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
President Droupadi Murmu presided over the event, arriving in a traditional buggy accompanied by the sound of bugles, which added a ceremonial touch to the proceedings.
This annual event signifies the conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations.
Notable attendees included Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the heads of the three armed services, among other distinguished guests.

The ceremony commenced with a band marching down Raisina Hill, performing Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja to evoke a sense of national pride.
A piped band followed, presenting a medley while forming various shapes to highlight significant events, including the 150 years of Vande Mataram, the Gaganyaan mission, and Amar Jawan Jyoti.
A CAPF band then performed Vijay Bharat, which honors India's growth and its rich cultural heritage.
Large screens were set up at the venue, broadcasting live footage of the ceremony and showcasing symbolic images related to the 150 years of Vande Mataram, the Gaganyaan mission, and 'Amar Jawan Jyoti'.
