AI Virus Creation: Scientists have created a completely new virus using AI technology, named Evo-Φ2147. This virus never existed in nature before. It has been specifically designed to kill dangerous E. Coli bacteria. The new virus works 25% faster than the natural virus and opens up new possibilities for fighting bacteria.

How was this virus created?

Scientists at British startup company Genyro used AI tool Evo2 and DNA manufacturing technology Sidewinder. Evo2 was tested on 9 trillion base pairs of data, so that it could generate entirely new bacterial codes. Sidewinder technology made the task of joining genes in the correct sequence easy and accurate.

What is the specialty of the virus?

Evo–Φ2147 has only 11 genes, whereas the human genome contains more than 2,00,000 genes. This virus cannot reproduce on its own, so some experts do not consider it alive. The purpose of this virus is to kill antibiotic resistant bacteria and help in developing new vaccines.

Scientists believe that through AI and gene creation technology, completely new organisms can be created in the future or long-extinct species can be revived. According to the scientist, AI has now become the co-author of natural evolution and it can give a new direction to biological evolution.

Safety and Precautions

Given the danger of AI-designed organisms, Evo2 has been tested to ensure that it cannot generate human pathogens. The researchers ensured that the virus affected only the bacteria and was not misused.

Will be used in the treatment of bacteria

In future, this technology can be used to treat bacteria and make vaccines. The time to make personalized cancer vaccines can be reduced from 8 to 12 weeks to 2 to 3 days. Scientists believe that this step can bring a big change in fighting antibiotic resistance.
