There is good news for millions of farmers across India. The long wait for the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is expected to end soon. February is likely to be financially important for farmers, as the government may transfer the next ₹2,000 installment directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts after the Union Budget.

However, this time the government has tightened eligibility rules. Measures such as physical verification and stricter scrutiny have been introduced to remove ineligible beneficiaries from the list.

PM Kisan Yojana: Latest Update on the 22nd Installment

The 21st installment of PM-KISAN was released in November 2025. As per the four-month payment cycle, the next installment is due around mid or late February 2026. It is estimated that over 9 crore eligible farmers may receive the benefit.

In previous installments, cases were reported where:

• Both husband and wife from the same family received benefits




• Payments were made in the names of minors




• Ineligible farmers continued receiving installments

To prevent such irregularities, the government has temporarily withheld the names of several beneficiaries until verification is complete.

How to Check the PM Kisan Village Beneficiary List

Farmers can easily check whether their name is included in the updated village list by following these steps:

Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in

Go to the “Farmers Corner” section on the homepage

Click on “Beneficiary List”

Select your State, District, Sub-District (Tehsil), Block, and Village

Click on “Get Report”

The complete beneficiary list of your village will appear on the screen, where you can check your name.

What to Do If Your Name Is Not in the List?

If your name does not appear in the village list, there’s no need to panic. Follow these steps:

• Visit pmkisan.gov.in




• Click on “Know Your Status”




• Log in using your registration number and OTP




• Check whether the following are marked complete (green tick):

  
  
  
  

  • e-KYC

  
  

  • Aadhaar seeding

  
  

  • Land record seeding

  
  

If any of these are incomplete, your installment may be delayed. You can get the issue resolved by visiting:

• Your nearest Agriculture Department office, or




• A Common Service Center (CSC)

Once corrections are made, eligible farmers will receive the pending installment in the next payment cycle.
