Barmer, 31 January. Jodhpur Police Commissioner Omprakash has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure a complete and impartial investigation into the death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa. This team will be led by ACP Chhavi Sharma. Talking to a news agency, Police Commissioner Omprakash said that a SIT consisting of 9 members has been formed, which is investigating the case from all angles.

He said, “At present we have started taking statements of people associated with them.” Talking about the injection given to Prem Baisa a few seconds before his death, he said that investigation is being done from all angles. Police officials have indicated that the possibility of some major conspiracy cannot be ruled out at this stage. At present, the teams are gathering information about the few hours before the death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa, mobile call records, CCTV footage of the ashram and other digital inputs are being scrutinized.

An important aspect of the investigation revolves around an injection allegedly given to him shortly before his death. Police have detained and interrogated compounder Devi Singh, who had allegedly given the injection. Officials are investigating whether the injection was given on doctor’s advice, which medicine was used and whether it played any role in the death.

The police are waiting for the post-mortem report, which is expected to provide clear information about the exact cause and time of death.

It is said that while expanding the scope of its investigation, SIT will also interrogate Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s father and members associated with Sadhna Kutir Ashram on Pal Road, Jodhpur. Prem Baisa Balotra, originally from Pareu village of Balotra, faced early difficulties after losing her mother at the age of two.

Under the guidance of spiritual gurus Sant Rajaram and Sant Kriparam Maharaj, he mastered Bhagwat Katha and devotional singing and eventually gained recognition throughout the state. His ashram Sadhna Kutir was inaugurated by many eminent personalities including yoga guru Baba Ramdev. However, the death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa has raised serious questions across Rajasthan.
