Digital Infrastructure Investment India: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has taken several big and historic steps to strengthen digital infrastructure investment in Budget 2026. In this budget, special emphasis has been laid mainly on employment for the youth and expansion of modern technical education. The government has prepared a very comprehensive roadmap to create new opportunities especially in the field of gaming and animation. Also, efforts have been made to provide major relief to the general public for the future by making major reforms in health facilities and tax system.

In Budget 2026, the Finance Minister has announced that India is a very large and fast growing market for Animation, Gaming, Visual Effects and Comics (AVGC). To meet the needs of this growing sector, there will be a huge need of about 20 lakh skilled professionals in the country by the year 2030. The government aims to make India a global leader in this field so that the talented youth of our country can get employment on a large scale.

Labs in schools and colleges

To develop technical skills at the grassroots level, special AVGC labs will be opened in 15 thousand secondary schools and 500 colleges of the country. This modern lab is located in Mumbai based ‘Indian Institute of Creating Technology’ (IICT) so that students can learn content creation. This initiative will help in upgrading modern digital skills among children at the grassroots level and making them future ready.

Big relief in health sector

Taking special care of the health of the general public, the government has decided to make medicines for 7 very serious diseases like cancer and diabetes cheaper. The Finance Minister has announced a new investment of Rs 10 thousand crore in the pharma sector so that treatment and essential medicines can become affordable in the country. This step will bring a huge relief to lakhs of families who were burdened with the heavy financial burden of expensive medicines for a long time.

New tax and infrastructure

The new income tax law in the country will be fully effective from April 1, 2026, in which the facilities and needs of the taxpayers have been specially taken care of. Along with this, the government has also made a big announcement in the budget for the construction of 7 new high-speed rail corridors and 20 new waterways in different parts of the country. A huge budget of Rs 12.2 lakh crore has been allocated to strengthen the digital network so that connectivity can be improved.

Tourism and Regional Development

In order to further promote the tourism sector, a new scheme has been introduced in the budget to prepare 10 thousand new professional tourist guides across the country. Apart from this, many special and beneficial provisions have been made in the budget for developing Buddhist circuits in the North East states and for their economic development. There is also good news for sports lovers because now sports goods will be cheaper, which will give a lot of encouragement to local players to move forward.
