Ayush Badoni was on Monday named captain of the India A side, which will play two warm-up games ahead of the T20 World Cup starting on Saturday.

India A will first face the USA at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Monday, followed by a game against Namibia on Friday at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.

Tilak Varma, who has been cleared by the BCCI’s CoE to return after undergoing surgery for an abdominal issue, will feature in the fixture against the USA before joining the senior side.

The 15-member squad also includes several Indian Premier League players, among them Naman Dhir, Vipraj Nigam, and Mayank Yadav. Washington Sundar, who missed the recently concluded T20 series against New Zealand, has again been left out as he continues his recovery from injury and is expected to undergo a fitness test soon.

Riyan Parag, meanwhile, returns to the setup after recovering from a shoulder injury.
