Indian batsman Tilak Verma has almost made it certain that his place in the World Cup team has been confirmed by his brilliant batting. In the match played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, he showed that he is completely fit. Tilak Verma was out of the team for a long time due to groin injury, but seeing his batting during the match, it did not appear that he was suffering from injury for a long time.

After about a month, Tilak returned to the field and batted with confidence. Before the match, Tilak had practiced extensively in the nets. He not only batted but also practiced bowling with Ravi Bishnoi, which clearly showed his preparation.

Tilak’s return has made one thing clear but on the other hand the competition for the position of second opener and wicketkeeper has become tough. Sanju Samson has been struggling to score runs in the last few matches. Ishan Kishan has taken full advantage of the opportunities given to him.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav has indicated that on February 7, it will become clear who among Ishaan and Sanju will get a chance in the playing-11 of the World Cup. At present, Ishaan seems to have the upper hand.

Who is Washington Sundar’s backup?

Another big challenge before the team is the fitness of all-rounder Washington Sundar. Sundar is currently in recovery mode, so the team management is keeping ‘Plan-B’ ready.

To fill the void of Washington, Ravi Bishnoi is being tried, who has taken good wickets recently. Interestingly, Tilak Verma, Riyan Parag and Ayush Badoni were also made to bowl in the practice match.
