Navadwipdham is connected with Jagannathdham in Digha by bus service. Under the initiative of South Bengal State Transport Corporation, passenger transport from Digha to Navadwip started from February. People can now reach Digha Jagannathdham from Nabadwip by the same bus. Also it became easier to reach Navadwipdham from Digha. Two government buses have already been operated from Nabadwip to Digha Jagannathdham by the Transport Department. Visitors can reach Jagannathdham in Nabadwip and Digha for just 250 rupees ticket.
This bus service was launched last Sunday by the South Bengal State Transport Corporation. The rush of tourists on that bus can be noticed from Monday onwards. Online ticket booking has started through the app. According to the transport department, this bus will leave from Digha every day at 8 am. On the other hand, this bus will leave Navadwip at 6 am for Digha. Since the inauguration of Jagannath Dham last year, there has been a surge in traffic. Keeping in mind the rush of people to Jagannathdham, the number of long-distance buses had been increased earlier by the transport department. Direct bus service from North Bengal to Digha has also been started.
This time, the two pilgrimage sites have been connected by the initiative of the transport department. Digha Jagannathdham Trust Committee Member and Kolkata ISKCON Vice President Radharaman Das said, “This service will be very beneficial especially for foreign devotees. Thousands of ISKCON devotees from different countries of the world come to Mayapur every year. Many of them want to visit Digha Jagannathdham. This direct communication system will make their journey easier, safer and more convenient.”
