Kolkata. ED major action in coal smuggling case: ED has now taken major action in the coal smuggling case in West Bengal. ED has conducted simultaneous raids at nine places including Kolkata, Durgapur, Asansol and Burdwan this morning. According to the information received, the main objective of these raids is to detect black money earned from coal smuggling. The investigating agency suspects that such a huge amount of smuggling was laundered through Hawala. SBI is examining digital evidence and documents to investigate this economic crime.



In Kolkata and Durgapur, ED is raiding the house of a sand trader in Sepco township from 6 am on Tuesday (ED major action in coal smuggling case). A suspicious house is being searched in Ambedkar Sarani in the heart of the city. Officials have also conducted raids at Pandaveshwar and Kankasa on National Highway-19.



These traders are involved in sand mining from Ajay and Damodar rivers. He is accused of illegal mining of sand in large quantities under the guise of valid tender. The same invoice was used repeatedly. The sand was smuggled from West Bardhaman district using invoices from Birbhum district. Through these illegal activities, businessmen have amassed enormous wealth in a short period of time. Right now, Swasthya is running an operation and many important documents have been seized.
