Indigestion and flatulence: Many people have flatulence and digestive problems after eating rice at night. Rice contains carbohydrates that can slow digestion. For people who have a sensitive digestive system, eating rice for dinner may cause acidity, gas or slow digestion.


What to eat instead of rice for dinner?
Instead of rice, multigrain roti rich in fiber should be consumed in dinner. Protein-rich quinoa is a healthy alternative to rice. Millet is easy to digest, and contains fewer carbohydrates than rice. Dalia is rich in fiber and promotes better digestion. Moong Dal Khichdi is a protein-rich dish that can be made with lentils and vegetables. Vegetable soup rich in nutrients helps in keeping the body light.
