Priyanka Chopra is all set to make her grand return to Indian cinema after seven long years, and everyone has been pumped up about it. Interestingly, she had a request for SS Rajamouli before she signed the film and said yes to Varanasi.
What is it you ask? Well, it is an interesting request, and co-actor Mahesh Babu was also pulled into it. Here’s all about it.
Priyanka Chopra had one request for SS Rajamouli ahead of VaranasiPriyanka recalled how she requested Rajamouli to make her dance in the movie, and well, fans are obviously excited.
In an interview with Cinema Blend, PeeCee said, “So, I haven’t done an Indian film in six years. So when SS Rajamouli called me and was like, ‘This female character is really cool, and you have to be in it,’ whatever. And so I was like, ‘I have one request, can you make me dance, please? Because I haven’t danced in so long.'"

Mahesh Babu went on to add, “He made her dance and how." Priyanka adds, “Woah, I should not have asked because we be dancing. Oh my god, there’s a lot. And poor Mahesh was like, ‘Just because of you, I have to do it too.'" Mahesh further highlighted, “It’s sensational. I think one song we’ve already shot for, and it keeps playing in our minds. She kept singing it all the time. That song was because she wanted to dance."
Soon after, fans reacted to this video, and clearly, they can’t wait to get a glimpse of it. While some commented on how they can’t wait to see the song, others simply wanted a teaser of the song. One user wrote, “Finally, we get to see her in a desi avatar after sooo long.” Someone else said, “Babu & Priyanka dancing is Absolute Cinema!”

Helmed by SS Rajamouli, Varanasi will be his first big project after RRR, which was a complete success. The movie also marks PeeCee’s return to the Indian film industry and we are all set to see her in an action-packed role of Mandakini. Along with Mahesh Babu, the movie will also see Prithviraj Sukumaran as the villain.
The teaser of the movie gave a glimpse of how the film revolves around time travel and will be an action-filled adventure. While fans continue to decode storylines and make theories, there’s nothing known so far. Varanasi is slated for a release in April 2027.
