Kunal Kamra’s troubles have increased once again. The Privilege Committee of the Legislative Council has summoned Kunal for making an objectionable ironic song on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He has been asked to appear before the committee for hearing.

On Wednesday (February 4), the Privilege Committee of the Maharashtra Legislative Council has summoned comedian Kunal Kamra and Thackeray faction leader Sushma Andhare for hearing for making derogatory comments against Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The Chairman of the Privilege Committee is BJP leader Prasad Lad. He said that notices were issued to Kunal Kamra and Sushma Andhare 15 days ago. According to this, he has been asked to appear before the committee for hearing at 2 pm on Thursday.

If Kunal Kamra and Sushma Andhare do not appear even after being summoned twice, the committee will take action against them. BJP Legislative Council member Praveen Darkekar had given the last notice of breach of privilege against Kunal Kamra and Sushma Andhare for their derogatory remarks about Shiv Sena leader Shinde. Last year, Kunal Kamra had made an ironic song on Eknath Shinde. In which he had called Shinde a traitor without taking his name. Sushma Andhare supported Kunal Kamra.

In March 2025, Kunal Kamra did a stand-up show in Mumbai. In this, he presented the irony of the song “Dil To Pagal Hai” and attacked the character of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In his ironic song, Kamra had called Shinde a traitor. This caused a big uproar. Shiv Sena’s Yuva Sena vandalized the studio where the film was shot. Police filed cases against Kamra, but he got relief from the High Court. Meanwhile, Thackeray Group had supported him.
