Microsoft's next-gen Xbox could launch in 2027: AMD

AMD has hinted that Microsoft's next-generation Xbox console could be launched as early as 2027.

The confirmation came from Lisa Su, AMD's CEO, during an earnings call.

She said, "Development of Microsoft's next-gen Xbox, featuring an AMD semi-custom SoC, is progressing well to support a launch in 2027."

While this doesn't officially confirm the launch date for the new console, it does suggest that both companies are on track for a possible release in 2027, based on AMD's readiness.

Collaboration details

Last year, Microsoft and AMD entered a "strategic multi-year partnership" to co-engineer silicon for a range of devices. This includes the next-generation Xbox consoles.

The two companies are also working together on the next generation of Xbox Cloud Gaming servers.

The collaboration reflects Microsoft's commitment to enhance its gaming hardware and cloud services through advanced technology from AMD.
