Making French fries at home can be trickier than it appears. They often end up being soft, greasy, or soggy. 1. Selecting the Right Potatoes is Key!
Opt for starchy potatoes, which are ideal for making French fries. These types of potatoes are light and dry, avoiding excessive mushiness. If the potatoes contain too much water, achieving crispy fries will be difficult.




2. Soaking is Crucial.
After cutting the potatoes into thick strips, soak them in cold water for a minimum of 30 minutes. This process helps eliminate excess starch, which prevents sogginess and promotes crispiness during frying.
