Under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi, MCA program is to be run from 10 February 2026 to 25.02.2026 in 02 blocks Kakrahi, Ghorawal under the Filaria Control Program in Sonbhadra district. During the MDA campaign, DEC Ivermectin and Albendazole tablets will be fed to the entire population above 02 years of age according to the age group by going door-to-door.

A total of 573 teams have been formed to administer medicines, each team will have two members who will administer medicines to about 20 to 25 houses every day on 04 days of the week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. A total of 106 supervisors will be appointed to inspect the teams, each supervisor will inspect 05 to 06 teams. For the successful conduct of the program, the Chief Development Officer organized the second inter-departmental meeting on 06.02.2026 at 11:00 am in the auditorium of the Chief Development Officer.

The preparations for the IDA program were discussed in detail through PPT by the VBD consultant. The following instructions were given by the Chief Development Officer to the concerned departmental superintendents: Block Kakrahi, Ghoraval Superintendent/Incharge Medical Officer, BCPM, BPM were directed to ensure that as per the microplan, each team moves to the field at the scheduled time from around 10:00 am, the training of the remaining DAs and supervisors till 07.02.2026. Get it completed and special care should be taken that the medicine is administered by the team in front of you.

Avoid distribution of medicines and through publicity, make people aware of those who do not take medicines and feed them medicines, no one should be made to consume medicine on an empty stomach. On 10.02.2026, both the blocks – Kakrahi, Ghorawal should gather a large number of people and make sure that the district and block level officer employees themselves take the medicine and inaugurate it. Make sure to set up booths in all the government offices located under the block. Expected cooperation from other departments like Rural Development Department, Education Department, Child Development Nutrition Department etc. was discussed for maximum coverage in the filariasis campaign.

All the village heads will start the campaign in their respective villages by taking the medicine themselves and will also make other people aware about taking the medicine. The education department was directed to tell children about filariasis and motivate them to take medicine to avoid it. In the meeting, all the Additional/Deputy Chief Medical Officers, Nodal Officer V.B.D. All the officers/employees of the office of District Malaria Officer, DC Coordinator of Path PCI, District Panchayat Raj Officer, Sonbhadra District Program Officer ICDS, DC of Basic Education Department and District Program Manager were present.
