Director-choreographer Farah Khan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who previously collaborated on hits like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, could be joining forces again for a sequel, according to a fresh buzz.

Pinkvilla reported on Thursday, February 5, that Farah has devised a double-role concept for Shah Rukh that has him excited. An insider told the outlet that the idea is intended to lift both the emotional stakes and the entertainment value of the follow-up, with the actor set to play two contrasting characters.

Sources say the film will lean heavily into patriotism, with the original ensemble expected to return. The central plot reportedly revolves around a fresh threat to India, and the story will aim to balance action sequences with comic moments. The tipster added that the seed of the core story came from Shah Rukh himself.

The report also mentions that Aakash Kaushik is involved in developing the idea. Shah Rukh is said to be scheduled to hear the full narration for Main Hoon Na 2 once he finishes shooting for his other eagerly awaited project, King, around May; he will then decide whether to move forward, while writers continue to work on the script.

For context, Main Hoon Na, released on April 30, 2004, is a classic masala entertainer that blended action, comedy, romance and drama. Its star-studded cast included Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan, Kirron Kher and Boman Irani.
