Banda (Uttar Pradesh): A 27-year-old woman died allegedly while filming a social media reel at her home in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, police said.

According to family members, the woman, identified as Mohini, was recreating a hanging scene for a video. She reportedly stood on a stool and tied a noose around her neck as part of the shoot.

During the filming, she accidentally slipped from the stool, causing the noose to tighten around her neck. Family members said she died within minutes.

The incident came to light when her four-year-old daughter entered the room and found her mother hanging. The child reportedly raised an alarm, following which neighbours rushed to the house and informed others.

Police reached the spot after receiving information and brought down the body. It was later sent for post-mortem examination.

An investigation has been initiated. A police officer said that preliminary inquiry suggests it was an accidental death while attempting to shoot a reel. Further clarity will emerge after the post-mortem report is received.
