Irina Ghose recently announced her new role as Managing Director, Anthropic India, through a LinkedIn post. She shared her excitement about joining the company and highlighted Anthropic’s AI product Claude, describing it as a high-trust, enterprise-grade solution built for mission-critical environments. She also expressed her enthusiasm about working closely with organisations, developers, and startups across India as they use AI to transform operations and create value.

Ghose’s academic background reflects a strong foundation in both engineering and business. Beyond her corporate leadership, Irina Ghose is also known for her passion for marathon running. In an interview with Microsoft Stories India, during her time working as a Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft, she spoke about how running shapes her outlook on life and leadership. She compared life to a marathon, explaining how the sport teaches perseverance, endurance, and stamina, while helping individuals grow into better versions of themselves and approach challenges with balance.

She also shared that although marathons are often seen as individual pursuits, they are far from solitary. According to her, runners frequently encounter blind spots and dead ends, and during such moments, the support and energy from people around them play a crucial role in pushing forward. This philosophy, drawn from running, mirrors her approach to navigating complex professional environments.

Now at the helm of Anthropic India, Irina Ghose brings together her academic grounding, leadership experience, and marathon runner’s mindset as she takes on the task of expanding the company’s footprint in India’s rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
