Punjab News: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has said that the promises made to the people by the Bhagwant Mann government are now clearly visible on the ground. He said that due to the thinking of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme has been fully implemented and the common people are getting its direct benefits.

Cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh to 65 lakh families

While holding a press conference with AAP leaders Prabhbir Singh Brar and Gurpratap Singh Sandhu on Saturday, Dhaliwal said that under this scheme, cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh is being provided to about 65 lakh families of Punjab. This scheme is proving to be a great relief especially for poor and middle class families.

How successful is the plan?

Giving an example of the success of the scheme, Dhaliwal mentioned Sulkhan Singh, a resident of village Gurdasanangal in Gurdaspur district. He told that Sulkhan Singh, a daily wage laborer, had suddenly developed a serious heart disease. Doctors estimated the cost of treatment to be around Rs 3 lakh, which was not possible for his family to afford.

In such a situation, the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme came as a boon for him. In just one day, Sulkhan Singh’s health card was made and he had a heart operation in a private hospital in Amritsar. During this time stents were inserted and the family did not have to spend a single penny. After treatment, Sulkhan Singh returned home after completely recovering. Dhaliwal said that this is a befitting reply to those who call the government’s schemes just a ‘jumla’.

Focus on strengthening education and health system

Dhaliwal said that the main focus of the Punjab government is to strengthen the education and health system. Continuous investment is being made in both these areas so that the coming generations can get a better future. He said that during the previous governments, poor people used to get into debt due to expensive treatment or lost their lives due to lack of treatment, but the Mann government has made health the right of every citizen. He also said that regular monitoring of hospitals is being done so that extra money is not asked from any patient. In the end he appealed to the public to get their health card made as soon as possible and take full advantage of this scheme.
