The issue boils down to a difference in vision. Hrithik Roshan, who is reportedly set to make his directorial debut with this installment, wants to mount the film on a global scale. He is aiming for a budget of around ₹500 crorebelieving that to compete with international superhero franchises, the VFX and action need to be world-class.

On the other hand, Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films (YRF) is looking at it from a business perspective. He has reportedly proposed a cap of ₹350 croreciting the need for commercial sustainability in a volatile box office climate. Despite multiple meetings, neither side has blinked, leading to a mutual decision to put the film on the “back burner” for now.

What Happens to Krrish Now?

While this doesn’t mean the movie is cancelled, it certainly means we won’t see it anytime soon. The filming, which was expected to begin in 2026, has been pushed back. Hrithik is currently being a “practical guy” about the situation—he’s taking the feedback seriously and is reportedly reworking the script to see if he can lower costs without losing that “wow factor.”

Interestingly, rumors are also floating that Hrithik might explore other production houses that are willing to back his ₹500 crore vision. In the meantime, the actor isn’t sitting idle; he’s reading other scripts and is expected to announce a completely different project soon to keep his schedule moving.
