Dorohedoro is eagerly anticipated by both domestic and international viewing audiences alike, thanks to its chaotic nature, raw fantasy elements, violence, and humour found throughout the entertainment spectrum that exists within this world known as “The Hole,” where sorcerers and their magic take centre stage. After an exciting six-year wait, Season 2 will feature even more epic battles filled with magic, body horror moments, mystery of whose identity can be trusted, and the infamous over-the-top violence.

The second season of Dorohedoro has officially been confirmed, and it will begin airing on April 1st, 2026, according to announcements made by both the main anime website and major publications.

• Premiere Date: April 1, 2026


• Time: 23:00 JST (11:00 PM Japan Standard Time) on Wednesdays


• Format: It will stream “almost simultaneously worldwide” on multiple platforms, including Netflix and others. There might be a delay from the originally planned 2025 window.


• The series is produced by Study MAPwith most of the core creative team returning, including director Yuichiro Hayashi.

The new episode will air every week in Japan at 23:00 (11 PM JST). It is also going to stream just about everywhere in the world immediately upon release, like with season one before it, but not all details on platforms outside of Japan have yet to be finalised.

Many people wondered if the April 1st release date was legitimate due to the fact that it is on April Fool’s Day. However, there are now several reputable sources confirming that the date is indeed correct. Dorohedoro season two was originally scheduled to premiere at an earlier date, but production scheduling issues have pushed the premiere until 2026 and had nothing to do with cancelling or reworking the series.

Dorohedoro Season 2 Expected Cast

The core voice cast from Season 1 is returning, maintaining continuity in both tone and character portrayal:

No major casting changes or new character announcements have been made so far. Studio MAPPA remains the animation studio, with Yuichiro Hayashi returning as director, alongside much of the original creative staff.

Dorohedoro Season 2 Potential Plot

Immediately after the conclusion of Season 1, we continue in Season 2. The adaptation continues to adapt arcs from Q Hayashida’s manga, and many details about individual episodes have not been located yet; however, the adaptation will continue along a similar path as that of the manga—for example: the manga has many darker-tinted parts that will be included, while the other general characteristics of the series series will stay consistent with the previous season.

Thus far, no connection has been made to the anime-exclusive storyline that has been planned for this second season.
