Cristiano Ronaldo is all set to make a comeback on Saturday against Al Fateh following a high-profile Al Nassr “strike” where he declared himself ‘unavailable for selection’, which led to his absence from two consecutive matches.
The “GOAT” missed matches against Al Riyadh and Al Ittihad, to protest against management, and a lack of support from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).
The bone of contention was Benzema, who was signed by the rivals Al Hilal.
However, all the stakeholders reached a joint resolution, bringing Ronaldo back with the condition to resolve the club’s internal disputes along with the restoration of power to his allies, Director of Football Simao Coutinho and CEO Jose Semedo.
Ronaldo also demanded the overdue salaries of the club’s staff and collaborators.
A club spokesperson confirmed the truce, saying, “We expect Cristiano to rejoin the squad on Saturday and help push our campaign forward.”
The league also addressed the tension by making it clear that “no individual, however significant, determines decisions beyond their own club.”
Despite the ongoing controversy, fans showed great support for the icon and chanted his name in the seventh minute last Friday.
Ronaldo also signalled the end of the conflict by posting a photo on his social media with the caption “Al Nassr Mentality.”
