Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh government has taken a historic step to strengthen women’s rights and social security. The state cabinet has approved changes in the rules, under which now divorced daughters will also be eligible to draw family pension of their parents.

The objective of this new provision is to provide financial assistance to those women who are dependent on their parents after divorce. The government says that this will increase the self-reliance of women and provide security to the weaker section of the society.

According to the new rules, now divorced daughters will also be included in the scope of pension. Earlier due to some technical reasons she was not able to avail this facility. Now they will get direct financial support and their financial position will be strengthened.

Other decisions along with budget

Along with the changes in pension rules, the Cabinet has also passed the budget for the financial year 2026-27. This budget will be presented in the Assembly on February 18, which also includes other proposals for women’s safety and social welfare.
