White Hair Home Remedy: Graying of hair at an early age has become a common problem nowadays. Home remedies are safer than chemical colors. Alum, used in kitchen and medicinal properties, can prove to be a panacea for white hair. It not only blackens the hair but also keeps the scalp clean.

How does alum work on gray hair?

Alum has anti-bacterial and astringent properties. When applied to the hair, it improves blood circulation to the scalp and can help in the production of melanin. With its regular and proper use, the natural color of the hair gradually starts coming back.

Alum and rose water paste

Grind alum and make a fine powder. Now add rose water as required so that a smooth paste is formed. Apply this paste on white hair and after it dries, wash it with plain water. This method not only darkens the hair but also brings shine to it.

It is very important to keep some things in mind while using alum. Alum has a drying nature, hence its excessive use can make the hair dry. If your scalp is sensitive then do a patch test before use. Also, after applying alum, use conditioner or coconut oil in the hair so that moisture remains.

Alum remedy does not show results overnight but if you use it patiently twice a week, you will feel a visible difference. This is a much better and safer option than expensive parlor treatments.
