SA vs AFG: The 13th match of T20 World Cup 2026 is being played between South Africa and Afghanistan. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad and invited South Africa captain Aiden Markram to bat first. After this, South Africa, batting first, scored 187 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to the half-centuries of Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton. Now Afghanistan will have to score 188 runs to win.


South Africa suffered a setback in the beginning


Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock came to start the innings of South Africa. Both of them added only 12 runs for the first wicket in 2.3 overs. The first blow to the team came in the form of captain Markram, when he returned to the pavilion after being caught out by Mohammad Nabi on the ball of Fazalhaq Farooqui on the personal score of 5 runs. After this, De Kock along with Ryan Rickelton took the innings to 126 runs.



De Kock and Rickelton scored half-centuries


Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton played brilliant half-century innings for the team. De Kock played an innings of 59 runs in 41 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Rashid Khan got him caught out by Ibrahim Zadran. Apart from this, Rickelton played an inning of 61 runs in 28 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Rashid Khan bowled him and sent him to the pavilion. Rashidan sent both of them to the pavilion in the 13th over of the innings.



After this, Dewald Brevis returned to the pavilion after scoring 23 runs for South Africa. Azmatullah Umarzai got him caught out by Mohammad Nabi in the 18th over. In the same over of Umarzai, Tristan Stubbs also returned to the pavilion on the personal score of 1 run. David Miller contributed 20 unbeaten runs and Marco Jansen contributed 16 runs for the team. For Afghanistan, Azmatullah Omarzai took 3 wickets and Rashid Khan took 2 wickets, while Fazalhaq Farooqui got one wicket.
