Accident – A high-profile road accident involving a luxury Lamborghini on Kanpur’s VIP Road has intensified scrutiny as police move closer to filing a chargesheet, even though no arrests have been made so far.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, left six people injured and sparked widespread public concern. Authorities have identified Shivam Mishra, son of businessman KK Mishra, as the person allegedly driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police officials say the legal process is advancing and a formal chargesheet will be submitted soon.
Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal confirmed that investigators are carefully examining all aspects of the case. He said the police are verifying claims made by Shivam Mishra’s family that he suffers from epilepsy and may have experienced a seizure while driving, which they argue led to the accident.
According to the commissioner, officers will obtain medical records and consult relevant documentation to determine whether the medical condition played a role. “We are reviewing the health history and other available evidence before reaching any conclusion,” he said, stressing that the investigation would rely on documented facts rather than speculation.
The crash occurred on one of the city’s prominent roads, drawing attention not only because of the injuries but also due to the involvement of an expensive sports car and a well-known business family.
The matter has also reached the state capital. In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna informed journalists that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to take firm action based on the findings of the investigation.
The minister stated that no individual would receive special treatment and that those found responsible would face legal consequences. The government’s response signals that the case is being monitored closely at the highest levels.
Meanwhile, Shivam Mishra’s father, KK Mishra, has publicly disputed the police version of events. He has approached authorities alleging that his son is being unfairly implicated. According to him, the investigation is influenced by external pressures and does not reflect the complete picture.
Earlier, the family’s legal counsel, advocate Mrityunjay Singh, maintained that Shivam was not behind the wheel when the accident occurred. The lawyer claimed that a hired driver was operating the Lamborghini at the time and that his client’s health condition makes it unlikely that he would have been driving.
“An application has already been submitted before the court. All procedures will follow the legal route, and the matter will be heard soon,” the advocate had stated previously.
At the center of the defense is the claim that Shivam Mishra is an epilepsy patient. Family members have said he suffered a seizure while inside the vehicle, resulting in loss of control. However, police officials have clarified that this assertion remains under verification.
Investigators are expected to review hospital records, prior treatment history, and any available medical certificates. Forensic analysis of the vehicle and witness statements are also likely to form part of the final report.
As the probe continues, public attention remains focused on whether the medical explanation stands up to scrutiny and whether legal accountability will follow. With six individuals injured and a high-profile name involved, the case has become one of the most discussed road accident investigations in Kanpur in recent days.
Authorities have reiterated that conclusions will be based solely on evidence collected during the investigation. The chargesheet, once filed, is expected to provide greater clarity on the sequence of events and the role of those involved.
