A company led by the Inter Miami CF co-owner, Beckham Brand Limited, offloaded the residence at the One Thousand Museum, according to the South Florida Business Journal. The sale represents a $4.8 million return on investment for Beckham, who acquired the 9,200-square-foot unit for $19.8 million in 2020.
Located on the 59th floor, the full-floor residence features five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, and a sprawling balcony with panoramic views.
The 62-story tower on Biscayne Boulevard, completed in 2019, is one of only two residential skyscrapers in the U.S. designed by the late Zaha Hadid.
Hadid, the first woman to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, died of a heart attack 10 years ago at age 65. Known globally for her futuristic designs defined by fluid curves, her only other U.S. residential project is Manhattan’s 520 West 28th Street, New York Post reported.
Despite offloading the penthouse, David and Victoria Beckham are unlikely to cut ties with the city. The couple continues to own a $72.25 million waterfront mansion in Miami Beach.
The sale comes amidst a highly publicized rift with their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Last month, Brooklyn released a six-page statement announcing he was cutting ties with his parents, accusing them of controlling behavior and ruining his marriage. Tensions escalated this week when Brooklyn was spotted removing a tattoo honoring his father as well as his siblings’ names on his finger.
While Brooklyn has stated he has no intention of reconciling, sources close to the family suggest the door remains open. David recently appeared to extend a subtle olive branch, posting a photo of his football boot collection featuring the embroidered names of all four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
