Will banks remain closed on 12th February?
Branches of public sector banks are likely to be affected as employees and officers have announced to participate in the strike. Major unions like All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), AIBOA and BEFI have urged their members to join the strike. State Bank of India on Tuesday said a nationwide bank strike is scheduled for February 12, 2026 and warned customers that services may be affected to some extent. Work may be affected to a limited extent during the strike. IDBI Bank has also received official strike notice from the bank unions. A strike call by major banking associations has raised concerns among customers, but neither banks nor the Reserve Bank of India have declared the day as a bank holiday, meaning branches are expected to remain open even if there is partial disruption in services.
Customers may face disruption in branch services, check clearance, deposits and withdrawals. Online banking and ATM services may continue, although minor delays are possible. Private banks may also operate, but services may vary by location.
