Kurla Station Incident: Even a little carelessness while boarding and deboarding the local trains, which is called the lifeline of Mumbai, can prove fatal. A similar incident came to light at Kurla Railway Station of Central Railway, where the alertness of a TC posted on duty on the platform saved the life of a woman passenger falling from a moving local.


In the CCTV footage released by Central Railway, Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector (CCTC) John Paul was seen saving the life of a passenger by showing extraordinary bravery. It was told that this incident happened on 7th February. Paul was on duty at Kurla station.

At around 12:30 pm, a local train going to CSMT stopped at Kurla station and then started moving. As soon as the train picked up speed a little, a woman was trying to board the moving train. elderly woman Her foot slipped and she fell on the platform. Seeing this, Paul immediately ran to help and pulled the woman from the moving train to a safe place, which saved her life. During this time he also suffered a sprain in his shoulder.

Baby Bhaskar Gaykar, a female passenger who was shocked by the incident, was made to sit in the ticket collector office and was given water to drink. His family members were informed and later he was sent home safely. Baby Bhaskar became emotional after saving his life and expressed gratitude to John Paul and the railway administration. Central Railway Administration Appreciating the alertness and courage of John Paul, has appealed to the local passengers to travel carefully.
