Road Widening Project to Improve Connectivity

According to an official statement, the second phase of the project will cover a 10-kilometre stretch and is estimated to cost Rs 1,203.40 lakh. The widening work will span from Mithiberry to Parwal up to Chandni Chowk, and from Parwal to Vigyan Dham Jhajhra.

Addressing residents during the foundation stone ceremony, Dhami emphasized that a robust road network is essential for balanced regional development. He noted that improved connectivity would help streamline transportation, boost local businesses, and enhance access to education and healthcare services. The project, he said, is expected to benefit both urban and rural populations in the area.

Series of Civic Projects Announced for Sahaspur

Alongside the road expansion, the Chief Minister announced several development initiatives tailored to the needs of the Sahaspur constituency. These projects focus on improving drinking water supply, drainage systems, river embankments, and public facilities.

Among the key approvals is the construction of a tubewell in Bhauwala to strengthen drinking water availability. To tackle waterlogging issues within the municipal corporation limits, a new drainage channel will be built from Daru Chowk to the Keshavwala river.

Plans have also been cleared for the development of a Mokshdham near Arcadia Badowala Park. In addition, an embankment and connecting road from Asanpur to the cremation ground will be constructed to ensure safer and easier access.

To safeguard agricultural land, embankments will be built along the Asan River in Umedpur and Parwal. Protective structures are also planned for the Badowala residential area in Municipal Ward No. 93. Another road and embankment project has been approved in Pondha to prevent soil erosion near the drain and ensure stable access to the cremation ground there.

Focus on Inclusive Growth and Women’s Empowerment

Speaking at the public gathering, Dhami reiterated the state government’s commitment to expanding basic infrastructure in line with public expectations. He said Uttarakhand is steadily moving toward inclusive development, supported by improvements in connectivity, utilities, and social services.

Highlighting the role of women in the hill economy, he described them as central to the state’s progress. Referring to the Lakhpati Didi initiative, he said women associated with self-help groups are producing goods that are competitive in wider markets. The scheme, he added, is aimed at enhancing household incomes and promoting financial independence among rural women.

Economic Growth and Governance Measures

The Chief Minister also spoke about broader economic trends, stating that India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said Uttarakhand’s economy has expanded significantly in recent years, with the state budget now exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore. Power generation capacity has increased multiple times, and reverse migration has shown a notable rise.

Dhami further stated that the government remains firm on preserving the cultural and demographic character of the state. Measures such as the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, a strict anti-copying law in recruitment examinations, and action against illegal encroachments reflect the administration’s policy priorities.

He added that employment generation continues to be a key focus area, with preparations underway to fill between 10,000 and 12,000 government posts in the current financial year. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the efforts of local MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir, praising his proactive approach in raising and addressing constituency-level concerns.
