PTC Web Desk: Soon after shifting to the newly inaugurated Seva Teerth complex, Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved a series of welfare measures aimed at farmers, women, youth and vulnerable citizens , key focus groups of the government. The new Seva Teerth complex, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, now houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat.


Officials described the first set of files cleared from the new office as reflecting the spirit of “seva” or public service.


PM RAHAT Scheme launched


One of the major announcements was the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme. Under this initiative, accident victims will be entitled to cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh.


The scheme aims to ensure that no one loses their life due to delay in medical care or lack of funds at the time of emergency. The government believes this step will strengthen immediate trauma response and provide relief to families during critical situations.


Lakhpati Didi target doubled


In a significant push to women empowerment, the Prime Minister approved doubling the target of the Lakhpati Didi initiative from 3 crore to 6 crore beneficiaries by March 2029.


The government had already achieved the earlier target of 3 crore women earning at least Rs 1 lakh annually ahead of the March 2027 deadline. The scheme supports women associated with self-help groups (SHGs), helping them build sustainable livelihoods.


Over time, the initiative has expanded beyond traditional household activities. Women under the scheme are now actively involved in agriculture, horticulture, dairy, animal husbandry and other income-generating sectors.


Major boost for farmers


Farmers will also benefit from the decision to double the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore. The enhanced fund is expected to improve storage, supply chains and post-harvest facilities, thereby reducing losses and strengthening rural infrastructure.


Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 approved


To encourage innovation and support young entrepreneurs, the Prime Minister cleared the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with an allocation of Rs 10,000 crore. The fund will primarily assist early-stage startups working on advanced and breakthrough technologies.
