Kanpur Dehat. District Bar Association President Advocate Mulayam Singh Yadav made a sharp attack against the continuous killings of advocates in the state. He said that it is mandatory for the advocates to get social security and life protection but in the absence of this, they are becoming the target of criminals. Citing the shooting of Advocate Farooq Ahmed Khan in broad daylight in a crowded court in Rampur, Mulayam Singh submitted a memorandum addressed to His Excellency the Governor to the District Magistrate.

Five-point demands were clearly mentioned in the memorandum, it was said that strict action should be taken against the murderers by imposing National Security Act (NSA), Rs. 1 crore assistance to the family of the deceased, government job to one eligible member of the family, high-level investigation into all the murders of advocates in the state and immediate implementation of the Advocates Protection Act.


Mulayam Singh said that while providing justice to the public, advocates clash with dreaded criminals and murders are taking place without fear even in the courts, this is unbearable. He said that if the demands are not met, the movement will intensify. In protest against the complete boycott in the court, all the advocates of the district abstained from judicial work.


Those who submitted the memorandum included Ramesh Chandra Singh Gaur, Durgesh Chandra, Sarvendra Singh, Dharmendra Yadav, Jitendra Babu, Jitendra Pratap Singh Chauhan, Preeti Tripathi, Sanjay, Anand Mohan Katiyar, Balram Singh, Mahendra Singh, Yogendra Singh, Abhishek Singh, Ankit Mishra, Vedvyas Nirala, Rajendra Gupta, Subodh Narayan Tripathi, SK Singh, Ramsharan, Sulekha, Saroj Dixit, Sampat Lal, Jai Singh, Ravi Verma, Ram Ganesh Savita, Sudhish Pal, Kalyan Singh, Ashok Srivastava, Dilip Singh Yadav etc. were prominent.
