Lucknow, 13 February. Responding to the discussion on the Governor’s address in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that meaningful and positive discussion is the real strength of democracy. He expressed his gratitude to all the members of the House for their cooperation. The Chief Minister said that Governor Anandiben Patel had come to the House as per a pre-determined program and this was known to everyone. Despite this, the attitude of the opposition remained condemnable.

He said that the Governor represented a motherly power and the disrespectful behavior towards her was not fair to the entire House. Commenting on the conduct of the opposition, Yogi said that such behavior affects the image of Uttar Pradesh. He sarcastically said that mutual differences between some opposition leaders are also visible in public.

He said that in the last nine years, the proceedings of the House have been disrupted very rarely and this is the result of positive politics. The Chief Minister claimed that effective control on organized crime has now been established in the state. He said that the government has taken a step towards transparency by presenting the Economic Survey report for the first time, which is a symbol of the development journey of the state.

He said that Uttar Pradesh was once called a ‘sick state’ and the youth here were viewed with suspicion, but now the state has created its own identity. “The state with the largest population cannot remain dependent on its identity.” The Chief Minister said that according to the data of NITI Aayog, six crore people in the state have come above the poverty line. Facilities like ration and health are being provided as before and the government is not cutting the facilities but expanding them.

He said that this is a journey of nine years ‘from curfew to law’, ‘from problem to solution’ and ‘from chaos to good governance’. Uttar Pradesh has already been famous for Triveni and now it is moving ahead with the new Triveni of development. He claimed that today Uttar Pradesh is included in the top three economies of the country and is continuously moving towards development.
