New Delhi: Prashant Narayanan, the intense actor from Murder 2 and Ghost, has dropped a bombshell on Bollywood’s rising star Kartik Aaryan. Calling him “one of the most terrible actors we have,” Prashant says Kartik survives only on luck and his parents’ blessings.

In a bold podcast chat, he slams Kartik’s skills while noting fans might just be laughing at his films, not with him. This spicy feud has fans buzzing—will Kartik respond?

Actor Prashant Narayanan, famous for his roles in films like Murder 2 and Ghost, openly criticised Kartik Aaryan during a Bollywood Bubble podcast. He described Kartik as “one of the most terrible actors we have over here, but an extremely lucky person.” Prashant added, “He is only surviving because of his parents’ blessings. I feel that he is an extremely non-communicative and boosted by people around him kind of person.”

Prashant did give a nod to Kartik’s debut, saying, “I liked him in the first film that he did (Pyaar Ka Punchnama).” But he questioned Kartik’s ongoing success in Bollywood. The actor feels Kartik lacks real talent and relies on hype from those around him. This comes amid Kartik’s mixed career highs and lows.

On audience reaction

When the host asked why Indian audiences watch and make Kartik’s films successful, Prashant replied, “I don’t know how many people are appreciating them, but I have seen people laughing at them.” He clarified, “So, if you can make people laugh, that is a good enough thing. There is a difference between when you are laughing with somebody and when you are laughing at somebody. The Indian audiences are mostly laughing at somebody.” Prashant believes this explains Kartik’s box office pulls.

Kartik has tasted big success with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise—both Part 2 and Part 3 crossed Rs 250 crore at the box office. However, films like his latest Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri flopped. He won praise for Chandu Champion, where director Kabir Khan said Kartik deserved a National Award. Currently, Kartik is shooting Dharma Productions’ supernatural thriller Naagzilla in Delhi.
