New York. A 22-year-old Indian student pursuing postgraduate studies in the US state of California has gone missing, after which the authorities have started searching for him. Saketh Srinivasaiah, a resident of Karnataka and a UC Berkeley student, went missing on Tuesday, local media reported quoting police. According to ‘The Berkeley Scanner news portal’, her bag, which also contained her passport and laptop, was found in the Park Hills area. Srinivasaiah is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and is pursuing his master’s degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering at Berkeley, USA.
“…We express our deep concern over the disappearance of Saket Srinivasaiah, an Indian postgraduate student at UC Berkeley, from the state of Karnataka,” the embassy said in a post on X. “The embassy is in touch with the family and is also in touch with the relevant local authorities to locate the student,” the post said.
Police have been quoted as saying that Srinivasiah was last seen in the 1700 block of ‘Dwight Way’. According to the police, Srinivasiah’s height is about 6 feet 1 inch, weight is about 73 kg, short black hair and brown eyes. The police have urged people to inform the police if they have any information about Srinivasiah.
According to local police, he has been missing since Tuesday. He was last seen near the 1700 block of Dwight Way in Berkeley. The Berkeley Police Department has registered a missing persons case and is appealing to the public to provide any information they may have about his whereabouts.
