Lucknow, 14 February. Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said on Saturday that using derogatory language against Shankaracharya is “verbal violence” and a sin. Akhilesh Yadav, in a post on

He said that when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs face the public outside the House, the public will put their House on the road. Akhilesh Yadav’s comment assumes significance as it came a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the Assembly on Friday that not everyone can use the title of “Shankaracharya” and religious decorum and rule of law should be maintained during all programs.

Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, “Those who do not reveal the true figures on Maha Kumbh deaths, indulge in corruption even in the compensation; do not give account of those to whom the compensation has not reached; get the cases against them dropped; such people do not have the moral right to question the ‘religious position’ of someone else.” Akhilesh Yadav said, “In their statement, they called ‘rule of law’. As soon as their attention is caught, they will start saying ‘rule of law’.” Will we call the House again or will we do ‘wobbly repentance’? This is what happens when ego speaks. That person loses respect in the society, about which there is a saying – ‘When you open your mouth, you speak bad.’

The SP leader said, “This is an extended version of ‘Hata Nahi Bhaata’. It is his arrogance to humiliate and defeat the society against which he has always done politics of hatred, even in matters of religion. If you want, you can release the controversial film without changing its name and make it tax free.” He said that in the next election, the society will respond to its insult and the notice of the state president by casting every vote against him, remove his government and form a new government and then eat dal-baati together without fear. Yadav said, “The indecent statement made on Shankaracharya ji has been recorded forever in the House. If we call it condemnable, then even the word condemnable will feel condemnable.”

Nearly a month after the dispute between the district administration and Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said not everyone can use the title “Shankaracharya”. He said that religious decorum and law should be followed in all events. Adityanath said, “Not everyone can write Shankaracharya in front of their name. Not everyone can claim to be the ‘Acharya’ of any ‘Peeth’ and spoil the atmosphere. Everyone has to live within certain limits.”
