Punjabi film actress Himanshi Khurana has reportedly received a threatening phone call demanding Rs 10 crore, allegedly from gangster Zeeshan Akhtar. The incident surfaced in Mumbai on Saturday and has triggered concern within the film industry, prompting a police investigation.
According to sources, the caller demanded Rs 10 crore as extortion money from the actress. Law enforcement agencies are currently probing the matter and verifying the authenticity and origin of the alleged threat.
Zeeshan Akhtar’s name had earlier emerged as a wanted accused in the murder case of Baba Siddique. Investigators are now examining whether the latest threat has any connection to ongoing gang rivalries.
Himanshi Khurana gained widespread recognition for her lead role in the Punjabi film Sadda Haq, which significantly boosted her career in the regional film industry.
Sources linked to the probe suggest that Zeeshan Akhtar is believed to be associated with a rival group linked to Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara. This group is reportedly opposed to the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi.
Police officials are conducting a detailed inquiry into the alleged extortion call, focusing on possible gang connections and the broader criminal network. Investigations are underway to trace the source of the call and determine any verified links to organized crime.
