Mahashivratri 2026 fasting time: Today the holy festival of Mahashivratri is being celebrated across the country. Chants of Har Har Mahadev are echoing in Shiva temples and Shiva temples. Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month in the year 2026 is starting from 05:04 pm today. It will end tomorrow on 16th February at 05:34 pm. Along with fasting on the day of Mahashivratri, Bholenath is worshiped during all four hours of the night.

As much as the fast of Mahashivratri is observed with devotion, it is also broken with the same rules. It is said in the religious scriptures that if the fast of Mahashivratri is not observed according to the rules mentioned in the scriptures, then the full results of the fast are not achieved. Mahashivratri 2026, auspicious time to break the fast

According to the scriptures, Mahashivratri fast is broken after sunrise on Chaturdashi date itself. Tomorrow, the auspicious time for breaking the fast of Mahashiratri will start from 06:59 am. This Vrat Parana Muhurta will last till 03:24 pm tomorrow. Breaking the fast during this time can prove beneficial for the devotees. If you are worshiping all four Prahars, then do Parana after completing the worship of the last Prahar.

Offer these things to Mahadev before breaking the fast

Just before breaking the fast, do complete worship of Mahadev. Offer them food. After bathing in the morning, offer water to Shivalinga. Offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Aak flowers and rice to Mahadev. Repeat your wish. Also, before Parana, donate grains, fruits or clothes to any needy person or Brahmin. This fast is considered complete by donating. Mahadev becomes very happy by donating.
