Joel Dommett, host of The Masked Singer, has revealed the charming moment he inadvertently disclosed a contestant's identity.
Thepopular ITV contest, which features celebrities performing in elaborate disguises whilst judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama and Mo Gilligan try to decipher their true identities, concluded on Saturday night.
Sugababes' Keisha Buchanan emerged victorious as Moth, with Mica Paris securing third place as Toastie, and This Morning's Ben Shephard being unmasked as Conkers, finishing in second place.
The former Good Morning Britain host left the audience and judges astounded when he removed his mask, as no one had suspected it was him.
Joel, the show's host, was so taken aback by Ben's reveal that he fell to the floor, especially since Ben had served as a guest judge on an episode where he didn't perform.
Joel, who is also known for his stint on I'm A Celebrity, has now shared the endearing moment he let slip the secret to his young son, risking the exposure of Moth's identity.
As he was tucking his son into his cot, the little boy, born in September 2023 to Joel and his wife Hannah, said: "Ben Shephard is Conker," reports the Mirror.
To which Joel responded: "Don't tell anybody else ok."
In his post, Joel humorously advised: "Don't tell a 2 year old secrets."
He added on his Instagram Story: "I got him to sign an NDA and he still told everyone."
Ben joined in the fun in the comments, joking: "I told him in secret I promise."
This Morning's Sian Welby responded with a string of laughing emojis, whilst Loose Women's Brenda Edwards penned: "Love this."
Ben left fans gobsmacked when he unveiled his participation in the ITV contest, having even interviewed other ousted contestants on This Morning.
He characterised it as an "extraordinary" and "emotional" journey, stating: "Having turned 50, I thought, 'I've gotta do a few more scary things,' and this was my favourite."
"The bizarre thing is, I have been interviewing all the unmasked celebrities on This Morning. They have no idea I'm on the show and still in it!" he revealed.
"It's an isolating experience going on this show, as you can't tell anyone. I can't wait to be able to talk to everyone about it."
When questioned about deceiving the judges, he confessed: "I've loved it. The experience has been remarkable. Really special. I loved that side of it. As a rule, I think I'm pretty straight down the line and the fact I got to do something so under-hand.
"Davina was talking to me in the most minute detail about what happens when you're a contestant on the show. I was asking her loads of questions."

Discussing his mask, he continued: "You might not have realised that I'm not necessarily the best singer. The costumes are incredible, my costume particularly had so much going for it. I fell in love with it immediately.
"I just worked on the idea that Conkers wants to be really brave, he is a knight, but he [Conkers] is actually just a little bit nervous as well and actually wants people to be his mates."
Speaking about seizing the opportunity to don the outfit, he continued: "I think it was destiny. They talked me through some ideas but when they showed me Conkers I fell in love with it."
The Masked Singer is available to watch on ITVX.
