Richard Hammond's daughter Izzy has been in a bad crash during a Formula E event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

She was competing in the influencer-led Evo Series, which sees some big names race around the track in Formula E cars. Izzy was just over one minute into her lap when she collided with a bollard on the side of the track.

This incident took place during the duels event, which sees two teams set flying laps and the person with the fastest time picks up a point for their respective team, with Izzy going too fast into a corner before hitting the barrier.

Fellow influencers at the event including Sidemen stars Behzinga and Vikkstar, looked on worriedly.

Debris from the crash was seen all over the track, but Izzy emerged from the vehicle and was checked over by the medical staff.

Her car was absolutely wrecked, but she was heard on the radio saying "I'm fine, I'm fine," in response to her team checking if he had been injured. The safety car was later deployed as medical checks were conducted.

It has also been claimed that when asked what happened, Izzy said her brakes failed to stop the car and she turned into the corner as she tried to apply them.

Many of those participating watched on with concern, but thankfully Izzy came out of the incident unscathed.

Formula One icon David Coulthard, who was working as a commentator for the event, stated that Izzy had "caught the back end".

Considering her dad's career, it is perhaps no surprise that Izzy has become an influencer in Motorsport. She has 279,000 followers on Instagram and had been posting on her story before the event and crash.

Richard has also had his fair share of big car accidents, with the former Top Gear presenter needing to be airlifted to hospital following a crash in 2017 in Switzerland.

He was at the wheel of a £2million supercar before losing control, with the vehicle bursting into flames.

The pair have recently launched a podcast after a challenging relationship growing up where Izzy revealed all on how often he was away.

She said on Ben Fowler’s Road To Success: "I always think it must be frustrating for my mum because probably some of my happiest memories are ironically with my dad because he wasn't there that much because he was filming.

"He wasn't there a lot and that's all I really knew growing up.

"I mean, I'm not this is sounding like I had some awful childhood, I really didn't at all.

"I think my parents were really good at navigating because they had no idea what was going to happen.

"But they were very good at sort of drip feeding information so we'd know a bit what he was doing but not enough to worry us because most of the time they were doing stupid stuff that we really shouldn't know about."
