John Heitinga is among a number of staff members who have left Tottenham as the club's new head coach, Igor Tudor, begins to assemble his own backroom team.

The former Juventus chief, 47, has agreed a deal until the end of the season after the decision was made to sack Thomas Frank last week. The Dane left his post after winning only seven games in the Premier League this season, with Spurs currently two places and five points above the relegation zone.

Tudor officially started work on Monday and faces a baptism of fire this weekend when he faces Arsenal in a north London derby in his first game in charge.

He has been joined by some new faces - and that has coincided with Heitinga and others moving on from Tottenham.

Tudor has been joined his assistant, Ivan Javorcic, physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci and goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic. Out the door go Heitinga and Justin Cochrane, while it's understood Chris Haslam and Joe Newton will also not continue as part of Tudor's team.

Heitinga's exit comes just 32 days after the former Everton defender was drafted in to bolster Frank's backroom team, while there was even speculation that he could be asked to step in and lead the first-team should Tottenham choose to hire an interim manager.

The Dutchman has held previous roles with West Ham, Ajax and Liverpool, where he was one of Arne Slot's assistant.

He left his post at Anfield in May, though, just weeks after helping Slot and Co guide the club to the Premier League title.

Heitinga left the club in order to become the head coach in his own right at Ajax. Unfortunately, he was sacked after just 15 matches at the helm with the Dutch giants struggling in the Eredivisie.
