New Delhi: South Indian superstar Rana Daggubati grabbed headlines at a major AI event in Delhi. He gave a strong warning about artificial intelligence taking over jobs fast, including in films.

The Baahubali actor said AI could replace everyone soon, sparking big talks on tech’s future in entertainment. This comes as AI tools make movies without real actors.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 kicked off in New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam on February 16. It runs till February 20 and brings experts to discuss AI’s role in India. Rana Daggubati spoke there about AI’s quick rise in creative fields.

Rana Daggubati issued a clear alert on AI’s power. “It will replace all of us quite quickly,” he said at the summit. He noted AI lets creators see films before shooting a frame, changing cinema forever. The actor fears it will disrupt lives as the internet did, hitting actors, doctors, and more.

AI is already rewriting movie rules in India. Jio Hotstar’s web series Mahabharat – Ek Dharmayudh was made fully with AI, no actors needed. This has worried stars like Abhishek Bachchan, who called AI scary for creative jobs. He said it could harm careers if not used correctly, but it helps with effects and animation. Rana agrees, saying entertainment grabs tech early for faster creation.

Differing views on AI

Not everyone sees AI as a threat. CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi called it “not a challenge, but an opportunity for India.” He praised its potential during the same summit. Still, Rana’s words highlight fears in Bollywood and South cinema. Experts say humans will guide AI for now, but changes are coming fast.
