New Delhi. The Central Government has started the important process to the 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC). Now government employees and pensioners have the opportunity to influence their salaries and allowances by making direct suggestions.
Suggestions through online questionnaire
The government has released an online questionnaire on the MyGov portal. In this, employees can enter their suggestions to salary, pension, allowances and other benefits. This questionnaire is available in both Hindi and English and will be kept completely confidential.
The last date for giving suggestions is 16 March 2026. After this the portal will be closed, so interested employees can register their opinions soon.

Staff unions, researchers and general stakeholders
Judicial officers and employees of regulatory bodies
On which issues opinion has been sought
The questionnaire includes not just salary hike but also broader policy questions, such as: balance of pay commission between inflation and economic growth, calculation and structure of fitment factor, determination of annual salary hike and top level salary, possibility of payment of arrears from January 2026 etc.
Background of 8th Pay Commission
The 8th Pay Commission was announced in January 2025. It was formally notified in November 2025. The commission has to submit its report within 18 months. Employees’ organizations have told the government that in view of the increasing pressure of inflation, the recommendations of the Pay Commission should be implemented on time. Otherwise there will be a possibility of strike or agitation.
