New Delhi, 18 February. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ held at ‘Bharat Mandapam’ in the national capital on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday evening, PM Modi welcomed the leaders of various countries who had come to attend the summit and also held bilateral meetings with many global leaders. The objective of this summit is to establish India as a leading country in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and envision a future where technology advances humanity and promotes inclusive growth.



Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in an official statement on Wednesday that PM Modi will inaugurate the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ on February 19. Along with this, he will also hold bilateral meetings with many global leaders attending the summit. The inauguration ceremony will be addressed by PM Modi along with French President Emmanuel Macron, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and industry leaders from around the world.


PM Modi will see the pavilions of different countries


PM Modi will then visit the ‘India AI Impact Expo 2026’ along with other leaders and visit the pavilions of different countries in the exhibition. After this, PM Modi will participate in the plenary meeting of the leaders starting at around 12 noon. It will include heads of state, ministers and senior representatives of multilateral institutions, who will consider national and global priorities to AI such as governance, infrastructure and international cooperation.



After this, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the round table meeting of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of companies from 5.30 pm. Senior executives from global technology and industrial companies and government leaders will discuss investment, research collaboration, supply chain and use of AI systems.

The theme of ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ is ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay’ (Welfare of all, Happiness of all). The statement said that the goal of this conference is to make India a leader in the field of AI and create a future where this technology advances humanity, promotes inclusive growth and protects the planet.


Seven working groups will give direction to the summit, which are linked to three pillars – People, Planet and Progress. These groups will work on producing concrete results showing the impact of AI in various sectors.


20 More than 100 heads of state and government will participate


The seven themes are AI for economic growth and social welfare, democratization of AI resources, inclusion for social empowerment, safe and trustworthy AI, human capital, science and technology, innovation and efficiency. More than 500 AI leaders, around 100 CEOs and founders, 150 academicians and researchers and 400 Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), Vice Presidents and philanthropists from across the world are participating in this summit. Apart from this, more than 100 government representatives will also participate, including more than 20 heads of state and government and about 60 ministers and deputy ministers.
