New Delhi: West Indies will view their final T20 World Cup game against debutants Italy in Kolkata on Thursday as an ideal warm-up game before facing Zimbabwe in the super eight stage.


The two-time champions take on Zimbabwe in Mumbai on February 23, South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 26, and India in Kolkata on March 1.


They will take comfort from skipper Shai Hope’s return to form with a 44-ball 61 not out in their nine-wicket win over Nepal.


Shimron Hetmyer is among runs, scoring 64 against Scotland and unbeaten 46 against Nepal while Sherfane Rutherford has played the finisher’s role with competency, scoring 42-ball 76 not out against England.


Matthew Forde, Roston Chase and Gudakesh Motie have held forth in the bowling attack with confidence.


On debut, Italy have given a good account of themselves, beating Nepal by 10 wickets for their maiden victory at the top level.


The Mosca brothers have batted with authority at the top of the order. Younger sibling Justin cracked an unbeaten 60 against Nepal and 43 against England.


Elder brother Anthony was unbeaten on 62 not out against Nepal, adding a 124-run opening stand that became the highest partnership by brothers in T20 World Cups.


Regular skipper Wayne Madsen’s absence from a dislocated left shoulder during their debut match against Scotland hasn’t deterred them from expressing themselves.


Ben Manenti has pinched two fifties in three matches, while Harry Manenti has led the side with authority.

Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe

In Colombo, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka will battle for the top spot of the group after conforming progress to the super eight stage.


In home conditions, Sri Lanka have beaten Oman and Ireland and Australia, who slumped against Zimbabwe to get knocked out.


Zimbabwe stunned the Aussies and saw their match against Ireland getting rained off and by virtue of the shared points advanced beyond the group stage.


Dasun Shanaka’s Sri Lanka will look to buil don their momentum of three wins, buoyed by the return to form of Pathum Nissanka.


The opener’s century helped the Lankans beat Australia and along with the consistency of keeper-batter Kusal Mendis, who has scored three consecutive fifties, are the mainstays of their batting.


Veteran right-arm pacer Dushmantha Chameera and Matheesa Pathirana provide spark with the new ball while leg-spinner Dushan Hemantha and Maheesh Theekshana are handy spinners.


Zimbabwe have been proplled by opener Brian Bennett and pacer Blessing Muzarabani inspired displays.

Canada vs Afghanistan

Afghanistan and Canada are out of the tournament even after putting up valiant displays and will look to exit on a high.


The Afgahns are wish they had won against South Africa in the double Super Over contest. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, and Gulbadin Naib have scored runs but not fired together.


Skipper Rashid Khan’s spin and Azmatullah Omarzai’s have been their mainstays in bowling for long time now.


Canada’s hopes rest on their opening pair of Yuvraj Samra and skipper Dilpreet Bajwa and have to imprive their overall bowling performance.
