Lucknow: After the brilliant centuries of Devdutt Padikkal, KL Rahul, R Smaran, the first semi-final match of Karnataka’s Ranji Trophy 2026 played against Uttarakhand, which started on February 15, was declared a draw on Thursday, due to the excellent performance of the bowlers. At the end of play for the day, Uttarakhand had scored 260 runs for six wickets in the second innings. Karnataka will now face Jammu and Kashmir, which reached the finals after registering a historic win in the title match. Devdutt Padikkal was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his double century.
Karnataka started yesterday’s game ahead with 299 runs for six wickets. In the morning session, the bowlers of Uttarakhand performed brilliantly and bundled out Karnataka’s second innings at a score of 323. After this, Uttarakhand got the target of 827 runs to win the match. Mayank Mishra took four wickets for Uttarakhand. Abhay Negi got two wickets. Jagadish Suchit and Avinash Sudha dismissed one batsman each.
Uttarakhand’s batsmen, who came to chase the huge target, were once again seen faltering in the second innings and kept losing wickets continuously. When the match was drawn, Uttarakhand had lost six wickets for 260 runs. Saurabh Rawat (53 not out) and Abhay Negi (57 not out) were at the crease. Apart from this, Avneesh Sudha (66), captain Kunal Chandela (20), Jagdish Suchit (19) and Bhupen Lalwani (15) were out after scoring runs. For Karnataka, Shreyas Gopal took three wickets and Prasidh Krishna took two wickets. Vijaykumar Vaishak dismissed one batsman.
