Himachal Pradesh Toll Rate Hike: If you're planning a trip to Manali, Shimla, or any other hill station in Himachal Pradesh, this is important news for you. Now, Himachal Pradesh has become more expensive for those traveling with their own vehicles. The state government has significantly increased vehicle entry fees. These new rates will be effective from April 1, 2026, under the Himachal Pradesh Toll Act, 1975. This increase will apply to almost all types of vehicles. The government says this step has been taken to increase the state's revenue amid growing economic challenges. In this context, let's find out how much toll tax each vehicle will have to pay after the increase...

How much tax will each vehicle have to pay?
The new toll structure increases entry fees for most vehicles. Private cars, jeeps, vans, and light motor vehicles will now have to pay ₹170 instead of ₹70. Similarly, the charge for 12+1 seater passenger vehicles has been increased from ₹110 to ₹170. This means that almost all small and medium-sized vehicles entering Himachal Pradesh will now have to pay higher toll taxes than before.

The toll for minibuses (32-seater) has been increased from ₹180 to ₹320. Commercial buses will now have to pay ₹600 instead of the previous ₹320. Furthermore, the fee for construction machinery entering the state has also been increased; they will now have to pay ₹800 instead of ₹570.

Also, the entry fee for large cargo vehicles has increased from ₹720 to ₹900. Tractors will now have to pay ₹100 instead of ₹70. The rate for double-axle buses and trucks remains unchanged at ₹570. Furthermore, local vehicles in Himachal Pradesh are completely exempt from the entry fee, as before.
