US imposes 10% Tariffs Globally : The US Supreme Court had declared President Donald Trump’s old tariffs illegal, but just a few hours after this decision, Trump has again acted arbitrarily. The US President has signed a new executive order from the Oval Office. Under this order, a global tariff of 10 percent will be imposed on imports coming from all the countries of the world.

Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, ‘I am proud to say that from the Oval Office I have signed a 10% global tariff on all countries, which will take effect almost immediately.’ Earlier, he had said in a press conference that he would order the imposition of a 10 percent global tariff under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, which would be in addition to the existing tariff. He also said, ‘I can charge much more than this.’

Under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, this 10 percent tariff will remain in effect for approximately five months (150 days). During this time, the Trump administration will conduct necessary investigations to determine appropriate tariffs on other countries. The US President has indicated that tariffs can be increased if needed. Trump had clearly said that he can do whatever he wants. Rates could potentially be higher as well.
