According to the Panchang, the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month will start from 06:53 am on Thursday, March 19, which will continue till 04:52 am on Friday, March 22. Since Pratipada Tithi will last throughout the day on March 19 and sunrise will also occur on the same date, Chaitra Navratri will start from Thursday, March 19, which will be celebrated till Friday, March 27.

Ashtami and Navami tithi of Chaitra Navratri are considered very special. There is special significance of worshiping girls on these dates. Ashtami Tithi of Chaitra Navratri will be on 26th March, Thursday, Goddess Mahagauri should be worshiped on this day. Navami Tithi will be on 27th March, Friday, it would be best to worship Goddess Siddhidatri on this day. The festival of Shri Ram Janmotsav i.e. Ram Navami will also be celebrated on 27th March.
Navratri falling in Chaitra month is considered very special. According to the belief, Lord Brahma started the creation from Chaitra Shukla Pratipada Tithi, hence it is also considered as the first day of the universe. The festival of Gudi Padwa is also celebrated on the first day of Chaitra Navratri. Ugadi festival is celebrated on this day in South India i.e. the first day of creation. It is also said that Goddess Durga had killed Mahishasura after fighting for 9 days in the month of Chaitra itself. Therefore, the festival of worship of Shakti is celebrated in these 9 days.
